I was hoping to get some suggestions on how to eliminate a continious hum after connecting my Dell TV to this surround sound system today. I ran "red and white" connectors from the televisions output to the yamahas input. after running the self calibration it had a terrible hum. i had also just purchased and connected a hsu sub today. is it possible a "ground loop" occurred? i just read that thread and it sorta sounded plausible. any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks! scott

Have you double checked all your connections for accuracy? The buzzing sound could be caused by an incorrect connection.

i sure have- i spent about 2 hours switching cables, inputs etc. and re-running the setup procedure on the Yamaha without luck. would the quality of the cables cause this? i was using "leftover" cables from various cable,satellite installations over the years. stuff that was "extras", say from cablevision or Dish. they are brand new, but not Monster etc.
