I really like that RX-V765, and I like the new color, it looks like the same color Denon uses. Plus that receiver has 4 HDMI inputs, and only 2 component video inputs. That is one more HDMI input that the RX-V863 and it still has upsacling, and costs less, but isn't as powerful as the 863.

I realize it's being nit-picky but I find the amber color to be much easier to see. Besides it was one of the things that made the Yamahas unique, aside from the Pio Elites of course.
it's certainly not a deal breaker, but everybody has the light blue display.
I've grown to like the look of the amber of my Yamaha along with the blue of my Emo amp.

Yeah, I have a yamaha, and emo, but I would like the colors to match a bit better, since everything else is lit up blue. But the newer receivers aren't quite as nice as the xx3 series, even though they have more HDMI inputs, also the power ratings aren't measured the same way on the xx5 series either, and they are lighter too.

Time will tell on the quality, a glance at the specs does give the impression they've cheapened them up a bit.

yeah, plus the newer ones don't have any s video inputs, and they only upconvert to HDMI, not to component, or obviously S-video since there aren't any, but it does say upscaling to 1080p which the 663 doesn't do. I also noticed the remote is labeled different, only has buttons for the inputs, they aren't labeled DVD, CBL/SAT, etc... and the display looks different aside from the differnet color scheme. I am anxious for these to hit the store shelves so I can have a closer look at them.

I actually never liked the amber display.

I would expect to see a LOT of manufacturers cheapen up their stuff in this economy.

I wonder if the OSD will go color. The new Pioneers from 919 up will have color GUI's and the HK 254 and up already has it.

What I'm most interested in is seeing whether or not they bring back the large digital volume display that shows up when the volume is changed. It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Maybe we can get P'Dawg to dump that Denon of his and get a brown truck truck to his house with a Yamaha on it to test for us.:D

Look at the product weights of the 575 and 565....24lbs and 18lbs....looks like they went to cheaper lighter power supplies like Sony and Pioneer entry series....

Also shows that they prominetly show

Supports Deep Color (30/36 bit), x.v.Color, 120Hz/24Hz Refresh Rates and Auto Lip-Sync compensation

the old ones clipped the video and only showed at a 60hz refresh rate;)

This receiver seem like a very good candidate as my next preamp/processor (replaceing the VSX-1015). I really like its looks. Doesn't seem cheapish to me (not like the Pioneer 1019). Heck dual sub outs, 12 volt trigger, cool, very cool 7.2pre-outs (although I only need 5.2:))
