Yamaha still 'NOT' providing surround sound ?

Real simple-- and maybe repetitive..
my setup- yamaha rx-v365~

DVD→HDMI→ TO RCVR.
DVD→ALSO RUNNING COAXIAL SOUND→ TO RCVR
RCVR IS SET TO 'AUTO' to recieve digital.
I NEVER GET ALL 5 SPEAKERS TO LIGHT UP on panel.
JUST 2.. ► so I'm forced to listen in 5ch 'fake' music Enhancer mode.
WTF am I doing wrong? / YAMAHA GUYS. ?

Is your DVD player set up to output the raw bitstream? If not, then I'll bet that's it. That gets people all the time because a lot of DVD players output PCM as the default (or at least, they used to).

If you have any questions about that, let us know which DVD player you have.

Make sure that the DVD player is set to bitstream Dolby Digital and DTS.
