Yamaha/Samsung ARC issues

I am going to assume here that most know what the Audio Return Channel feature is and what it allows us to do. The problem that I am having is that I want to utilize the TV apps, but send the audio back to the Aventage reciever. When doing this however, it is not working. I have made the appropriate changes within the tv and rec, but when arc is enabled, the receiver automatically goes to AV4......has anyone else experienced this and if so was there a fix?

Yes, although my situation is a bit different as I am using a Mitsu 82" DLP. My television does not support ARC (strange, I know). I run a single digital coax cable from the TV out to my AV1 input on my RX-A2010. My Mitsu has a smart hub just like your Sammy. Go through the TV documentation to make sure ARC is supported. If it is, make sure you are using a 1.4 HDMI cable.

Brand new Samsung 7100 series, does support ARC. 1.4 HDMI, does support ARC.....good thoughts, but neither is the issue. It is a common issue, there has to be some type of fix.
