Yamaha RXv667 2nd zone

I am running 5.1 in my parents house. I put all the components in a different room hidden in the closet. I will also be hooking up zone 2 for the outdoor speakers. My question is that I was reading that the 667 only allows analogue for zone 2? So if I am running hdmi with the dvd and cable for the 5.1 I wont be able to use the 2nd zone with these components without connecting the analogue?

Correct you can't use hdmi to listen to other sources in zone 2.

Yes, but you can always hook up the analog connections in addition to the HDMI.

My denon is the same way- I also hooked my direct tv analogs up to the receiver for zone 2 so I can run them to my slave amp. Just need to figure out how to get my streamed music converted
