Yamaha RXV650 remote control for Loewe television PROBLEM!

I have recently set up my Yamaha RXV650 remote to control my 1999 model Loewe Profile 70cm television. I entered the recommended code "1001" IAW the instructions and it all seems to work fine, but the Loewe tv has seperate buttons on it's own remote to turn the tv ON and turn the tv OFF. Now my Yamaha remote will turn the tv OFF but not ON!

Yamaha make great AV's and I know Lowew make great televisions so I bet I'm not the first bloke to get remote rage over this problem!

Hi Justin....

Just thinking of my Sony TV - You can turn the power on by hitting any of the Channel buttons on the remote - Sony or other if its been programmed with the Sony code in my instance.
Is this an option?

Just noted in my RX-V2500 manual the Loewe TV code is 0539.
I have to ask though I know you have - Youve selected the correct brand under the right component list?

I just tried hitting the channel buttons with no luck. I double checked the code in my 650 manual and yep its "1001" for the Loewe. Maybe an email to Yamaha could be the trick?
