I don't know why there would be any issues with it... If it makes you happy why look for problems??

Is it a model restricted to certain markets, like Australia? Seems there's a few models Yamaha has there but not in the US. When searching that's the Yamaha site that comes up (au.yamaha.com). Could be known by another number in other markets....that does happen with certain brands/models.

You should be getting feedback on your speakers, not that avr. It isn't your issue. A Google search of them screams '"crap". No dealers, mostly eBay. Your Yamaha is a good upper mid avr.

I'd also say that if your looking for feedback, don't state in your OP that the Yamaha "isn't really good".

Not sure about your "given" reports, but the bench test and reviews for equivalent US models don't indicate overactive protection circuits. Your speakers and the space you have the AVR are the issues. You should open your mind up a little to solve your problem.

I do remember some of their models would shutdown sooner in the all channel driven tests on the S&V test bench. Say for a comparable Denon unit that would do it at 7X80W, the Yamaha might do so at 7X40W, while the Yamaha would have no trouble matching or exceeding the Denon's two channel driven output. To me that is not a factor in real world applications but some print magazine reviewers might have misled certain readers to believe it is an important factor.

I agree. Without more feed back from the OP (which i doubt will ever happen), based on his only stated comments he is blaming an avr (38lbs avr) for something that more than likely isnt the issue.

when ever i listen to music at -13 volume it shuts down after about ten minutes just about every time i can swicth it back on strait away it gets very hot i have a fan on it but does not seem to help it does not turn off when watching movies at -8 i am running 7.2 bi-amped with its own amps the speakers are accusound 8.6 refference speakers which are ment to be rated at 200 watts rms 90db and 2 sub woofers 200 watts my lounge room is 11 foot 25 foot can anyone help me please i live in the middle of australia average temp is about 35 degees celseus
The only reviews of his speakers noted that they distort easily at moderate volume and the drivers get very warm to the touch.
