Hello,
I bought a RXV1500 for my home theater. Been playing with the setting and learning how it works. I'm runnning 5 speakers Paradigm 7se MK3 front. CC-370 center and Atoms back.

When I put it on Normal Pro Logic. Standard or Enhanced I only hear music in the rear speaker and no sound effect at all.. Is this normal ?

I have to Run PLII to hear both (music and sound effect) from my Rear (side) speakers. THX is fine also

Is this normal ?

Thanks

Eric

It looks like I'm stock in 2 channel input mode, anything Multi channel it will not do. When I look at whats available when I play DVDs and compare it to whats in my manual they are all 2ch program. (Pro logic Sur.standard and enhanced, Pro logic II movie and game and DTS Neo 6 cinema. Thx cinema.

All the other programs that are multi channel

Could it be my DVD player the problem. An old Sony DVP-s330?

Or am I missing something? I read the owners manual over and over can't seem to find it.

Thanks for the help

are you using an optical cable or coaxial digital cable from your player to your receiver? (not the red and white RCA)

Yes, Optical or digtal coax. The coax is a little easier to plug in and a bit cheaper as well. I would think that would help to solve your problem. Set your input mode to "Auto".

Ernie00,

And make sure that your DVD player is set to:

Dolby Digital Bitstream, and
DTS Bitstream

or else you will get PCM only.
