Hi, im planning to upgrade my receiver from denon 1604 to yamaha rxv 1400, will i experience a marked improvement in the sound of my Home Theater and on my 2 channel audio set-up?

Are there rxv 1400 users in this forum who can comment on this?

I don't know about a significant improvement in sound. The Denon is probably no slouch, and you do not specify your speakers. Any significant improvement in sound will be from the speaker/room interaction. What I will say is that at first (if you are going to use the full seven speakers and a sub) is that you will be overwhelmed by the plethora of surround effects available from the Yamaha - over 2 dozen. Will you regard this as an improvement? That is for your ears to decide. It will be fun.

I have the 1400, but like Mudcat said, it will depend alot on your speakers. I have a set of 10 year old Infinity satellite speakers which are not very good.

Sorry for that, im using JM Lab as my center, Jamo for my fronts, Monitor Audio for surrounds and M&K MX125 as subwoofer.

How about my 2 channel audio listening, will there be a major improvement?

I doubt there would be any difference.

At least you would hear the difference in surround. The Yammie is excelent in surround processing, you will be in the middle of the action.
