Yamaha RXA3010 receiver -the main remote doesn't work...

It came with two remotes. The big one with the display screen just stopped operating the receiver or TV or DirecTV receiver. There's a 'mini' remote for the receiver that does the basics, and it works fine. Yes, I tried batteries. The LCD and backlighting works fine. I feel like there's a 'mode' I accidentally changed or something. I tried the two different codes listed and neither of those worked. The receiver operates from the mini remote, so the problem is in the main remote.

Ideas?

Try RESETTING the remote control, this will clear your original configurations and reboot it just like a computer. The instructions are on pages 134/135 of the Operation Manual...

If you'd like a second opinion before going through that trouble, I completely agree with M Code. Sounds quite necessary.

I'm just wondering what causes a remote to loose everything. It goes through all the motions, I can see it switch from unit to unit as it goes through the macros, it's all on it's lcd screen, but there's no apparent output..
