This is my first time.
Any help on how and if they would work in Germany 220v......
or is it possible for a American dealer to order me a 220v model..
I travel to the Orlando(FL) area 2-3 times a year....
or would they work with a transformer 220v-110v.
I forgot to mention, the Receivers are a lot cheaper in America than Europe...
anybody out there that can help me would be great...
thanks in advance....
John

I doubt an American dealer can order you a 220v system.

Shouldn't be a problem. Get something like this, but never, ever try to juice your new component with 220v or you'll fry it. Too bad the US is about the only country to use 110 volt while the rest of civilization used 220.

FYI - Most small appliances can be used with transformers. Some appliances that are not recommended for use with transformers for overseas use are the following: microwave ovens, irons, radio alarm clocks, vacuum cleaners, electric cooking ranges, televisions, video recorders, washers, dryers, refrigerators, & dishwashers.

Don't these receivers have a 110/220 switch?

I thought these models had a 110/220 switch just like computer power supplies do?

If you get a step-down transformer make sure and get the proper one; some are desiged for electronics and it must be able to hadle the heavy draw an AV Receiver will cause.

One thing you would loose, unfortunately, is RDS -- for the tuner part.
