Would someone on this forum please let me know why there is a Yamaha DSP-Z9 intergrated amplifier sold in the UK and a RX-Z9 receiver sold in the U.S.? The UK version just got a great review in the March issue of "What Hi Fi" and I want to make sure it is the same component. Thanks.

I think the only difference is that the rx-v has a tuner. Europeon models also run at 4ohms & have a different type of wall outlet to connect to. (I think)

Zumbo has it mostly right. The DSP Z9 was introduced in the domestic Japanese market in 2002. It is rated at 250 watts per channel ( using different measurements ). The RXV Z9 is basically the same model with a tuner and reworked to conform to UL regulations (in Canada CSA). I doubt we will ever see this model here - we only get the full load receivers. You will find more details on the DSP Z9 on the Yamaha, Japan website.
