Hi all,
I'd like to pick your colllective brain...
I have the following HT system:
- Samsung LA46A950 LCD TV
- Yamaha RX-Z7 (updated to latest firmware)
- KRIX Harmonix front speaker pair
- KRIX Vortex centre speaker
- KRIX Equinox rear surround speakers
- KRIX Seismix3 subwoofer
- Samsung BD-P1500 blueray player
- Sony PlayStation3
I use medium quality HDMI cables between the AV Receiver and the TV and media players.
I notice the following problem when sometimes playing DVD or blueray movies either thru my PS3 or my Samsung BDP1500. There is a one or two random loud high-pitched 'pop' sound coming from the speakers. I think it comes from the Harmonix speakers. The volume level I play the movie at is not deafening nor very loud, just loud.
There is not popping sounds when playing pure music CDs loudly. So it seems to be related to movies DVDs/Blueray. I am concerned that it is either a problem in the Yamaha RX-Z7 amp which could be damaging my speakers, or it could be a problem with the speakers themselves (perhaps crossover problem?). I don't think it is a high sound level clipping issue as the volume I play at does not reach distortion.

Q1) Does anyone have any experience with this problem or have a diagnosis for this problem?
Thx
