Yamaha RX-V6A Question

Hello All. I have a question for you. I purchased a Yamaha RX V6A, Open Box New for $450. It’s set up and running well. However, in the Crossover section, my Subwoofer is clearly absent. The sub outputs normally. Crossovers for my Fronts are set to 80 and the Center is also set to 80. Why is the Subwoofer absent from the Crossover section?

Because a crossover is a combination of a high pass filter for your speakers and a low pass for your sub (where the two filter slopes "cross over")

The RX-V6A does not have the LPF of LFE setting like your Onkyo TX-NR7100 which is located in its Crossover settings.

Which is really not needed since the normal content in the LFE channel is limited to 120hz anyhoo....

Right, but some may want to turn it down. Onkyo’s “LPF of LFE” defaults to 120Hz. It can be adjusted from 80Hz-120Hz or turned Off and 80Hz is recommended for THX.

Denon/Marantz’ “LPF for LFE” settings range from 80Hz-250Hz. There are separate HPF and LPF settings for IMAX in Denon/Marantz units.

One would assume any AVP/AVR without the LPF setting has LFE fixed at 120Hz but you would never know it using a Yamaha receiver.

One thing is CERTAIN and ABSOLUTE. The Yamaha V6A brings out the TRUE BEAST in my RSL subwoofers. I’m truly astounded by the unleashed raw performance of my subwoofers brought about by the inclusion of the Yamaha when compared to the Onkyo. My tried and true Onkyo NR7100 has been boxed up, closeted and relegated to back up duty, "just in case. "
