Yamaha RX-V679 Plus Amazon Fire stick

Will the Amazon fire stick work with my Yamaha RX-V679, ??

I can't seem to find any real information on it. Some sites say it works fine, while others say it will not. No sense in getting the fire stick, if we cannot use our surround.

All 'STICK' devices use a standard HDMI connection on them and will work with any A/V receiver or television that has a HDMI input on it. You may have to find a USB plug to power the Fire Stick, but this will not be an issue related to compatibility with the A/V receiver.

I be-leave the fire stick comes with a USB too ac power supply (plugs into wall outlet) so I don't think that will be an issue. I am just worried about the two units being compatible.

There are limits to the content in terms of audio codec/video you can get on the Fire Stick but if just concerned about the avr and the hdmi connection, no worries there. I have two of them on two different avrs (a Denon and an Onkyo) and no problems, have also plugged one into my universal disc player before as well.

I very much would like too use it for Netflix, Amazon prime movies, and Red box, as well as other media available for the Fire stick.

We love our Surround Sound for movies and general T.V. watching, just wanted too make sure it's going too work.
