On the rear of this AV receiver it has 2 additional audio outputs. 1). is named {zone 2} for sending audio in a 2nd room location and the other is named {audio out} right next to the {zone 2}. What is this for? could i use it to record audio out to a CDR or cassette recorder? I haven't tried this but just asking if anyone would know more about these audio out sources.

Short anser is yes, either set will work.
The ones are the left (i.e. plain Audio Out, not Zone 2) are easier to use in several respects.

It is clearly explained in the manual, which you can download for free from Yamaha's web site.

Those outputs are for recording analog sources. The receiver does not convert digital sources to analog for those outputs. If you want to record a digital source on your CD recorder, you should plug directly into the digital input on your CD recorder.
