Yamaha RX-V667 Question

Hello All,

Ive recently purchased a new Yamaha RX-V667 and have run my Directv HD DVR through it via HDMI cable. When watching broadcast on Directv it appears that the the AV receiver is not processing the data quick enough, it looks to be a little jumpy as well as every once in while the picture and sound will freeze for a few seconds. I would say it might be Directv box but it never has happened before the new AV receiver.

Any thoughts or comments?

Does the sat box have dual HDMI out?

If so, you could run a cable to both. This is preferred by most.

Another thing to consider.

What did you have before?

In other words, did the HDMI go straight from the box to the tv before. If so, you have added another HDMI cable. May be the cable.

If the current receiver replaced an existing one, and you are using the same cables as before, then....

The Directv box only has 1 HDMI output. I did not have another AV receiver prior to purchasing this one.

I am noticing right now, the sound sounds very "digital" on FoxHD news.....

In this case, this means you have added one HDMI cable to the mix, correct?

One should be going from your sat box to the receiver, and one from the receiver to the tv.

Try a different cable.

I have never had an HDMI cable issue, but I have heard of problems. I can see where some might fit better than others, and this could cause a problem.
