Yamaha RX-V665 pre out into RCA on integrated

I have a Consonance M100+ integrated amp driving Osborn Epitome mk V speakers.

I want a receiver to clean up the cable tangle/cope with multiple HDMI devices into my tv.

I am hoping to use a Yamaha 665 to serve as the hub. Inputs will be Foxtel IQ2, Blueray, Apple TV, Wii. Component output to my old (but still fine) 1080p Sony.

I'm going to try using the Yamaha pre-outs into the RCA input on my Consonance M100+, essentially using the Yamaha as a source. Any idea if that will work?

Consonance Droplet 5.0 will remain hooked directly into the M100+, to cut the Yamaha out and maintain audio quality for CD listening.

I'm not sure how the pre-out as a source into an integrated amp will go. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Nobody seems to know the answer to this.

I've decided, for simplicity's sake, to see if I can get an Emotiva XPA-2 and UMC-1 delivered to Australia and I'll forget about trying to make a Yammy play with the M100+.

I'll keep the Consonance M100+ in the cupboard for now, and possibly reset it up in an all valve system downstairs for when the mood takes me.
