The remote control for my Yamaha RX-V665 A/V receiver stops working intermittently after the receiver has been powered on for a period of time (sometimes seconds after power on, sometimes hours after). I've confirmed that the remote control itself functions by checking for IR light using a digital camera and using it with a different RX-V679 receiver successfully. In addition, I've updated the firmware on the V665 unit, tried alternate universal remotes, replaced batteries, and performed factory reset...yet the symptom stays the same.
I have 2'ish questions: 1) Is there anyway to perform the YPAO auto-setup without a remote control? Does any button or combination of buttons on the front panel act as the "Enter" key? (I'm fairly sure the answer is NO, but throwing it out there one last time).... 2) Does anyone know if the IR receiver is replaceable and if yes, is there a reputable parts seller for obsolete units such as the RX-V665?
