Hi All,

I have a Yamaha RX-V665 receiver. This receiver is connected through HDMI to a Panasonic TC-P58S2 tv. To the receiver I have connected PS3 and XBox trough HDMI. About a month and a half ago, my HDMI ports failed. Sound yes (through optical cable) but no image. Starting troubleshooting, I disconnected the TV and connected the receiver to another TV. Everything works. So, I ruled out the receiver. I purchased an A board for the TV and replaced it today. The same issue. Now, if I connect the Xbox directly to the TV through HDMI, it works.
I tried resetting the receiver and TV to factory settings, same issue. What can it be? It is so frustrating that it works with one TV and not with the other...
Can someone please advise!!! Thank you in advance!!!

This has to be one of those all too common handshake issues.

Have you tried a new HDMI cable to the TV?

How long is the HDMI cable between your receiver and TV?

Are you using powered HDMI cables by any chance?

It sounds as if the handshake HDCP codes are reaching one receiver from the TV, but not the other.

This could be a cable issue, or the TV sending codes of a quality one receiver can handle but not the other. There is no easy way to tell which.

Other questions.

What are the ages of your receiver and TV?

Did this problem start after any software updates?

Cables are between 6-8 feet.

No

The Panasonic and the receiver is a 2010 model. Which I bought at the same time. While the Samsung, that will work withe the receiver is newer is a 2011.

No, I have updated the software with the old HDMI board and copied the settings from the old board to the new.
