Yamaha RX-V663 Setup Question

Just purchased my Yamaha receiver last night, replacing my older Yamaha receiver. I made all of the connections, which include HDMI connections from my Satellite receiver and my Blu-Ray DVD player. My system is setup as 6.1.

I did not have time to run the audio setup routine (using the mic). I plan to complete the install tonight. After I completed the hookups, I tried the Scene 3 setting (for the satellite input) and got picture and sound fine. However, when I put in a DVD, and switched to the Scene 1 setting, I had no audio. I put a CD in my CD player, switched to Scene 2, and still no audio.

Is the lack of audio because I have not ran the setup program yet?

Thanks

The auto setup your talking about has do do with speaker distances and EQ, it shouldnt matter whether you run it or not.

What you have to go into the setup and define the audio input for your devices.

Read the manual on how to do this.

Check your manual. The Scene buttons are pre-set from the factory. They can be changed. You don't necessarily need to anything. Make sure that you have all the correct speakers enabled on the setup menu.

Check your HDMI audio option in the setup menu. It sounds like you don't have it set for the receiver to do the audio. I don't remember what setting this actually is.

Setup Question - Solved

Completed my setup last night and all is well. The issue with my Blu-Ray lack of audio was fixed by changing the Audio out setting to HDMI. After solving that, I ran the Auto setup for my speakers and it worked fine.
