Yamaha RX-V663, Mirage Omnisats, what next?

I have the V663 in my living room, the Mirage v2's and the matching center channel. I have two "in-ceiling" 8" speakers in the rear (just 2 right now) that came with the house... since there is a lot about frequency response, and all the +/-db comments and things beyond that that I won't pretend to understand how it works (I understand what it is)...

...what is a good set of matching rears that I can replace the ones in my ceiling with? I have no way of running a center rear because of the layout, so I'm only looking for 2 speakers.

Oh - I have the Slipsch 12" reference sub, it's positioned BEHIND the sitting area, on the rear left side, about 3 or 4 feet back from where the speakers are mounted in the wall.

I have yet to run the automated audio tool or try to adjust any of the sounds since my room isn't completely full with all the furniture and decorations I have, so I want to make sure that everything that's in there to bounce off of - is in there before I run it.

Where would I start?

what brand are the rear speakers that are currently installed?

Surround speakers

I wouldn't worry too much about the surround speakers. There don't need to match the front channels and are probably just as capable as your main satelite type speakers.

Hook up the speakers and use the mic to run the YAPO setup. It should accurately set the speakers levels and distances. Check the manual setup and make sure all speakers are set to SMALL with a crossover of about 100 Hz.

I'm using four Mirage Omnican 6 in-ceilings for my side and rear surrounds and I'm very pleased with them. They'd be an excellent match for your Omnisats.
But I second the opinion of connecting your existing speakers and see how they pair up with the rest of the system. You just might find you don't need to "match" the surrounds to the fronts (my fronts, left, center and right are Energy).
BTW, I also have the Omnisat v2 floorstanders and center in a second system; very pleased with them also.

Definitive Technology makes very good ceiling speakers.

Another very good brand is Speakercraft.

I am not sure of the size you have or how much you want to spend
I almost did my whole house in Speakercraft... Mode's throughout, MZC-66, Music Server, dual Ipod docks, and the Time series in my living room with the controller... but I decided against spending $10k.

I can still get the Time in-ceiling speakers with the controller in exchange for some furniture I have... so I'm considering that. I like the idea of having remote control speakers, since it promotes that "wow" factor when you're trying to sell a house or having people over. ONLY problem with those is that if I do install them, I believe I have to run the controller wire to the speakers so they actually function.
