ok, so I picked up a new Yamaha RX-V483 receiver for my home theatre system. My plan is to connect my Fire Stick to one of the HDMI ports to watch in the living room. This receiver has an Ethernet port in the back. I plan on running an Ethernet cable to the Fire Stick directly from my router for a better signal. My question is...if I run the Ethernet cable to the port in the back of the receiver, will the fire stick run off of the receiver’s internet connection or should I just run the Ethernet cable to the fire stick using a Ethernet adapter???

Use the Ethernet Adapter for the Fire Stick. The A/V receiver will not provide network addresses for connected HDMI devices.

I always put a network switch into A/V racks to feed network to all connected gear including the receiver, BD players, game consoles, and streaming services. I often find that I have to go to an 8-port switch at least.
