In the plus column, the Yamaha RX-V367 has four HDMI inputs that are 3-D ready. If that is all you are looking for in a receiver, this is the one for you. While entry level receivers are expected to be spartan, the RX-V367 is relying on it's number of HDMI inputs and their 3-D readiness to sell it which, in our opinion, may not be enough to draw sales away from competitors at this price point. Basically, if you have four total HDMI devices two with coaxial and two with optical connections and don't care about native HD audio decoding then buy the RX-V367. If not, you should really be looking to buy Yamaha's next model - the RX-V467 which supports native HD Audio and has YPAO.

Spring clips for the center and surround is a deal breaker.

Nice to see HDMI repeating in the 300 series model though. In the past I believe they only had switching.

Firmware C022 Yamaha RX-V367

Hello and thanks for providing this forum.

I just finished the firmware uprade procedure to version C022.

Firmware C022 supports 3D HDMI 1.4.

Go to the product support page at Yamaha.com to download the procedure and the firmware.

Read through the procedure once before attempting.

In summary, you make an audio CD-R, connect an optical drive to the RX-V367 via optical or coaxial digital audio, put the receiver into CDDA upgrade mode, then play the firmware disc as an audio CD.

I used a Panasonic BD player connected to the Yamaha receiver via a toslink optical audio cable.

Hi All,

Did anyone tried RX-V367 with two speakers only? I have tried it and even if i select 2 channels stereo on the Yamaha display i se "L" "R" and also a "SW" sign. I find it strange that "SW" (which means subwoofer) is there and to me it seem that the bass is not very powerful into the speakers either.
Do you think the SW is required even with the 2 Channels stereo setting ?

Thanks in advance,
George

you have to shut the sub off and there is a setting for it in speaker set up menu on the recevier, once you turn the sub off then more bass will go to your front speakers (if they can handle it, if not use tone control to turn the bass down)

press the setup button the the remote, then scroll to speaker setup, then press enter, the scroll to config, press enter, then scroll to subwoofer, and turn it to none. if you get a sub you can always turn it back on and adjust it in the level menu in speaker setup.

it *DOES* have YPAO, only opted out in the USA.

:)

Or I should say, in markets other than the US it does, for example Aus.

I did find it confusing at first when the manual I first looked at had no YPAO error code lookups.

Would be nice if they included a printed manual...

SydAndy.com

P.S. That might mean that clever peoples might find a way to hack into it somehow & enable YPAO - who knows, the socket might even be enabled, just under coverplate? anyone looked inside?

On my one the YPAO socket is in line with the power button and under the "R" of natuRal sound receiver.

good luck!

Help with RXV-367

I am having trouble trying to add more Bass to my 100 Watt RTR Subwoofer connected to my HTR-6240 which is exactly the same as RXV-367. This A/V Receiver is a little over 1 year old. I used the Microphone to do the "Auto Setup". In the Manual reference "Manual Setup", it says I can set the Speakers and Subwoofer for "outputting low frequencies" of the "LFE".
It shows a "LFE" chanel signals chart. Parameters, Subwoofer, Front Speakers and Other Speakers.
When I Press "Setup" on my Remote, I get Speaker Setup. It then says to Press the "Up" or "Down" Cursor, then "Enter" . Then select an item and when finished press"Setup" again.
I can't find how to adjust the Bass. I did raise "Bass" on the front Button on the Receiver, but I can barely hear the Subwoofer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Phil
