YAMAHA RX-V2700 and DIRECTV H20

I went out and bought the D* H20 box yesterday and when I went to hook it up it would not "shake hands" with the Yamaha RX-V2700 with the HDMI connection. When I hooked the box up to my Samsung 5687W TV with the same HDMI cable, no problem.

When I went to research it come to find that this has been a problem with the D* H20 and HR20 for many months now and of course D* was blaming everyone else. Apparently they now admit a problem and have a patch coming in a month or two. So I can go direct to the TV with HDMI and use optical to the Yammi or I can go through the Yammi and use the switching I paid through the nose for by going the Component route. Ain't it just like D* to continue flooding the market with crap and then first, denying it is their issue, then admitting it and then taking forever to get it fixed.  I know many of you will say that the component vs. HDMI will look just as good, etc, etc. The issue is why with many of these companies, are we forced to be the BETA testers and then when we report problems we get lied to and nothing gets resolved for months. I am referring to D* in this case, not Yamaha. I love the 2700 and I have no issues with HDMI on other components.

I guess the issue revolves around the switching AV receivers and a handfull of TV's. Anybody got an HDMI switching amp with D* H20/HR20 and are not having problems?

Video connections

If you use a component video connection from the sat box to the receiver, it will still transmit HD material in 720P and 1080i format and output via HDMi to the TV. They Yamaha will also be able to upscale the SD material which might be an improvement. Try this setup until they "fix" the satelite box.
