Hi All.

I am fairly new to the realm of AV Receivers.
I recently acquired a Yamaha RX V2600 AV receiver, I know, its old, but I love the unit however the problem is it wasn't supplied a remote and I have no means of programming the unit and without programming, I cannot get sound to come through. Does anybody know how to program this unit with its on board keys, if so please help!!!

I have also heard about Yamahas Receiver managers software, if anybody has this available and knows how it works, please, provide me with the software and a set of instructions on how to use the software.

thanks in advance

kind regards
Kaze

Get a used logitech remote, download the logitech interface on your PC and program the remote. It sounds complicated but its easier then peeling off the shrink wrap from new BluRay purchases.

Or look for a Yamaha remote on EBay.

Thank you for your response.

Is there a specific Logitech remote I can use or is it any Logitech remote?

One thing about a used Harmony remote...all the buttons may not work well. My older Harmony remotes (650s and a 700) all suffer from this. NOS units of the 665 are being sold by BestBuy on ebay....but seems they raised the price since I picked up a couple....

The fact you can't just plug things in and get some sound to come through is a bit of a concern for sure. You should at least get audio out of the front left/right mains when you have a source plugged in and some volume going. You may need to try a few different sources to test this out. I would use RCA sources as my test audio in different inputs. Probably from a cable box or maybe my phone.

You can also try a SofaBaton. I got mine for about $39.99 off Amazon and they work great on my TV, AVR, Xbox series X and Apple TV.
