As I've read in other forums my problems aren't unique. The "HDMI Upscaling Menu" has been greyed out as I'm using a HDMI to DVI cable. I'm led to believe that this is due to the PDP not sending through the correct EDID? I have read that there is a firmware update coming which will
allow the amp to "ignore" the communication from the plasma and apply
levels of scaling which the plasma is not saying it will allow.
What I'm having difficulty with is in fact getting yamaha to admit to this issue. As far as they are concerned here in Aus they admit to the above "flaw" but don't have any intention to fix the problem as they don't regognise it as a problem.
I'm hoping someone can shed some more light on this issue and hopefully provide some details of this apparent "firmware update" or details of a contact at yamaha that may be more helpfull.
