hi all,
any and all help with the following problem would be greatly appreciated:
i'm only getting a hum from the designated zone 2 speakers.
equipment:
yamaha rx-v2400 receiver
speakercraft big bang BB2125 power amp
Nile SSVC-6 speaker selector
here's how i have it set up:
1 pair of speakers connected to the niles ssvc-6 (i have 3 more pairs to connect).
output of niles ssvc-6 connected to the "A" speaker terminals of the big bang.
1 pair of speakers connected to the "B" speaker terminals of the big bang.
yamaha zone 2 analog (RCA) output is connected to the big bang main input.
yamaha rec out/zone 2 out is set to tuner and a radio station is tuned in. the "zone 2 amp" setting is currently set to "on", i've also tried it set to "off" but i get the same result, i think it should be set to "off"?
i've also tried sending the cd output to zone 2 but still get the hum.
the speakers connected to the yamaha speaker "A" terminals are working properly. if i take the the speakers connected to the big bang "B" terminals
or the the pair connected to ssvc-6 and connect them to the yamaha "B" terminals they work fine, so i'm fairly certain the speakers and speaker wire are not the problem.
i've double and triple checked my connections and am pretty sure everything is set up right, but obviously i'm missing something, any ideas?
i am not currently in front of the equipment but hopefully i've included all the necessary info.
