Yamaha RX-V1900 HDMI input mapping without remote

Hello audiophiles!

i’m trying to update a system my dad set up for the home theatre some years ago, specifically I want to add new HDMI devices to the back of the Yamaha RX-V1900 natural sound AV receiver with the cinema DSP digital icon on it. where there’s currently only two of the four HDMI inputs used.

Unfortunately whoever set it up seems to have changed the defaults so that other inputs such as DVR are not using an HDMI input. I’m having trouble adding a third, and later possibly fourth HDMI device, even though there are four HDMI inputs.

The remotes and box is missing.

When I look at the manual at https://ca.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/5/326705/RX-V1900_C.pdf
I see the steps including starting with a manual set up button, and then making my way to the I/O input settings where I can change which video input is used under each title, example DVR.
unfortunately I don’t have the remote, and poking around at the front panel doesn’t seem to let me change that.

Anyone have any good ideas what to do?

Specifically let’s say, I want the currently unused DVR input to use HDMI 1 or HDMI 4 inputs.

I know this is an old system, many thanks if you have an idea!

You may just want to reset it to its default settings to get the HDMI ports working as they did out of the box.

Hello Treb, thanks for such a quick reply.

I’m a bit afraid to do that since there’s tons of wires in the back with matching configurations, and I think they might’ve done some sound settings with the microphone probe and so on. But that is a very good idea of yours, thank you.

However, I’ll try putting it up into that advanced set up, with the power on track, in case Manual Setup or something similar is available.
