Just bought a pair of Paradigm Prestige 15B speakers and trying to decide which receiver to go with. It's a 2.0 set up right now but will get a sub eventually. Room is about 11x14 and system will be used for music/movies 50/50. Thanks.

Okay have a few questions for you first. Why are you looking at just these two AVR's? Also, you mention that you have a 2.0 right now and will add a sub later. Sounds like a good plan. However, you claim that you are 50/50 music/movies. Does that mean you plan to expand beyond a 2.1 setup? It looks like you are needing 4K capability albeit HDCP 2.2 compliance, no?

The Integra employs AccuEQ whereas the Yamaha employs YPAO. Honestly, if you are going to look at a Yamaha I highly recommend that you take a closer look at the 860 or even a 850. The reason being, both the 850/860 will offer you Muli-Point YPAO which means you can take measurements of your room from more than just at the MLP. That is rather significant inmho. Furthermore, AccuEQ is not known to be all that great. Sure, it has improved some. But then again, so has YPAO, Audyssey, and etc. Personally, I would look at other options such as a Denon or Marantz.

Be sure to check out Acc4less for great deals on factory refurbished AVR's. For example, here is a link to the Yamaha offerings that are HDCP 2.2 compliant:

Lastly, we have the general size of your room which happens to be the exact same size as mine. Is your room open to other areas? Plan to get more than one sub? Doing Atmos? We just need a bit more info, then many of us here can be of more help to you. Very smart and knowledgeable guys around here that have helped me immensely. They will gladly do the same for you. Welcome to the forum! Congrats on such nice speakers.

Cheers,

Phil

Was originally considering Yamaha because of their reputation for great sound and reliability. One of the Dealerships where I shop carry Integra and Yamaha but seem to push Integra claiming they have superior amp sections. The other Dealership sells Yamaha and Marantz but they seem to favour Yamaha for their reliability. I get really good discounts at both of these Shops which is why I am considering these brands.

The room where the speakers are going serves as both a computer/tv room, so as a result, I will probably never go beyond 2.1 due to the layout. Originally I was going to go with the Yamaha RX-V481 but was told that it wouldn't do the speakers justice. I wanted to stay in that $500 range but now it seems like I have to increase the budget to match the quality of the speakers.

So, it comes down to Yamaha, Integra and Marantz now. I would like to know what the minimum receiver required would be to pair with the Paradigm Prestige 15B's and which of the 3 brands you would recommend. Reliability , build quality, but most of all great sound is what I'm looking for.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Nothing wrong with getting a good discount. Especially, after buying the Prestige 15B speakers. Yamaha is known for their reliability no doubt. Since you are leaning that way, I would still opt for the 860 or even an 850 as opposed to the 760. Multi Point measurement will widen the sweet spot for you by taking more than one measurement at and near the MLP. The 760 will allow measuring from the MLP only.

Nothing wrong with going 2.1 or even 2.2. But, I still prefer what Audyssey does as compared to the likes of YPAO/AccuEQ. I base this on my own experience. However, Audyssey is not perfect. Highly encourage you to take a closer look of the Marantz offerings. If down the road you plan to get a second sub, then make sure you get a Marantz that will allow you to EQ both subs. It really does make a difference. Here is a Marantz that I recommend for you:

Here is a Yamaha that also is worth considering:

Anyways, hopes this helps you some. Best wishes to you in making your decision.

Cheers,

Phil
