Hello. I have a 5.1.2 system. AVR with input from Shield TV device plays Atmos channels. When it has HDMI input from the computer, the AVR displays a 3/4/0.1 audio format, not Atmos. Channels 7 and 8 (presence) are broadcast on the fifth and sixth (surround). What is the difference between 3/4/0.1 and Atmos audio format?

Hello and welcome. You appear to be getting a 7.1(3/4/0.1) signal from the PC. So, it doesn't look like Atmos metadata is getting to the AVR from the PC. Is the PC sending all audio out as PCM? Assuming it is setup for Atmos.

Really nice thanks for the reply. I spent many hours testing different combinations of PC-AVR settings. I tested again and actually got the Atmos signal from the Netflix app on PC. I get 3/4/0.1 PCM from the REW program or PC system sound tests. I use Dolby Access with Atmos output in both cases.
So far, I have blamed the hardware for the problems. So I have problems with the REW program?

Couldn't say, but this may be helpful.

Rewiring is pain in the ass. You need to be consistent in writing down the settings and entering the right values back.
Based on the frequency measurements, I found a faulty ceiling speaker. The manufacturer replaced it as soon as I submitted the measurements to it. The tweeter did not work. Without measurements, I would never have noticed this.
SPL measurements correct stereo sound at the listening position well, even if the listening position is not in symmetry. Auto EQ and subjective adjustments showed 1 db difference between LR speakers, 4 db between center and LR, +10 db for sub, 2 db between rear speakers. I believe that optimizing ceiling speakers is also important.
It would really be in Dolby’s interest if there was a test sountrack with pink noise.
BTW, I followed a lot of advices from Gene. Here is an example one of my measurement if the speaker is defined as large vs small.
