Hello, I'm new to this forum and in desperate need of help. My first receiver was a RX-A2050 and worked for 6 months. The problem was the front right channel would pop/crackle/hum then shuts down. I switched the speaker wires and it did the same thing on the other speaker so it was clearly on the receiver side. I took it in to a service center and they ended up replacing the main board. He said it should be fixed and didn't hear anything wrong. He didn't really hear the problem in the first place. Brought it home and it worked for a couple days and started again. I called Yamaha raising hell and they sent me a new RX-A2060. Received it Friday hooked everything up and worked perfect for about 3 hours then started doing the same thing even louder on the rear surround channel. I even unplugged the speaker from that channel all together and it would still shut down. I've tried unplugging everything else to see if was a groundloop or something, didn't help. I feel like it has to be something on my end considering this the second one and one was almost new and the other as new. Or really bad luck. Thanks in advance, Jeremy.

Perhaps shorts in your speakers or their wiring if the same thing happens with different avrs. What volume level is it set at when it goes into protection? Could be really bad luck, but doesn't sound too logical..... I'd make sure it wasn't something in the wiring first.

Yeah that's what I thought too but I've unplugged all speakers and plugged them in one at a time they al do the same thing so i has to be the channel not the speaker. I'm at a loss here...

You sure it's not the wire itself? Internal connections on the speakers? Just seems odd the same wire speakers would do the same thing with a new unit in the same way....
