Yamaha RX-A2020 not finding sub/giving sub signal.

Hi guys.

I'm having a small problem with my new Yamaha receiver. It's not finding the sub i autosetup and if I set it up in manual setup it doesn't send a signal to it.
I've tried setting front speakers to small and crossover 80. Nothing happened. Tried both subwoofer plugs on the receiver. Still nothing. Turning up the db for the sub and still nothing. Tried another sub and RCA cable. Tried the touch the cable to see if sub hums/thumps and that worked on both subs with both cables. Connected both subs to my old receiver and they both worked in setup with the test tone. Tried to set sub as sub 1 and 2 no reaction. Tried resetting the receiver and starting all over and.... Nothing.
Dealer says he hasn't experienced a faulty Yamaha receicer straight out of the boc, so he thinks I'm setting it up wrong. He couldn't answer why it doesn't get a signal when in manual/auto setup and running test tone.
This is my last option before I return the receiver to the dealer and let them work it out.

I've tried both sub out just above the surround back and the pre out ones just above the center out on the picture. In the pre out it hummed very low and the other 2 were completely dead. Shouldn't it give a test signal in setup even though the receiver is in straight?

I've done everything and still no sound from the sub and it's still not found in YPAO. Nothing when added manually either.

Hi. The black "SUBWOOFER" jack above the surround back speaker terminals is NOT an output jack - it's an INPUT jack. So, don't use that one to connect to your subwoofer.

The white and red ("FRONT" and "REAR") "SUBWOOFER" jacks in the "PRE OUT" section are the ones to use. Either should work for you, but if it were me, I'd use the white one if I just had one sub.

As for menu settings, the defaults should have worked for you - but because you may have switched things while trying to get it to work, this is what I would use (refer to page 116 of the Yamaha manual):
(*) "Subwoofer 1, Subwoofer 2" set to "Use" and "Normal"
(*) "SWFR Layout" set to "Monaural x2"

Adam, when I'm dictator in Denmark I'll appoint you Secretary of Audio. I now have subwoofer :) I'm a happy man and now I'll explore even further into the jungle of the RX-A2020. More questions may pop up. Thank you very much for your help both of you.

I did say Sub out on the receiver earlier in my post. I'm glad you are sorted. Enjoy.

It seems that my appointment as Secretary of Audio is not welcomed by all. Time to hire more bodyguards for my stay in Denmark...
You are highly engaging In the USA, so it wouldn't be a problema.
