Yamaha RX-A1010: No HDMI 1 output

I use an HP laptop as an integral part of my home theater setup. It runs Windows Vista SP2. The laptop is actually an HTPC, complete with HDMI video and S/PDIF audio outputs. These are connected to the AV2 ports on my newly-acquired Yamaha RX-A1010 (all worked well with my older Yamaha RX-V2700). A separate HDMI cable connects the output of the 1010 from its HDMI 1 OUT port to my HP rear projection TV.

With its dual monitor configuration (as confirmed in the NVidia Control panel dialog box—see JPGs), the laptop previously displayed the HP TV as the second monitor. In the middle of streaming a video from PBS last night, we suddenly lost the video portion of the show. Now the Control Panel > NVidia dialog box shows the A1010 as the second monitor, yet nothing is displayed on the TV—not even the Windows Desktop bitmap image that used to appear when Windows used to designate the HP TV as its second monitor.

The Yamaha piano image still displays on the TV when the 1010 is not in AV2 mode; otherwise the TV image is blank when the 1010 is set to AV2 mode.

Given all of that information, how do I now instruct the 1010, when in AV2 mode, to route the HDMI 1 output to the HP TV?
