I have a Yamaha RX-V3000 receiver. I've had it for about 4 years now. I didn't have any problems with it until recently. About six months ago it started acting up and every once in a while would not turn on. When I pushed the power button on the unit or on the remote, the unit would turn on, the display would light up for perhaps 1/2 a second and then the unit would shut off. Then one day a few months ago I couldn't turn the unit on at all. I tried over a period of days with different power supplies. I tried disconnecting all other inputs, outputs and speakers and the unit still would not turn on. As a result I took the unit to the only authorized repair facility in Manhattan, Analogique Systems Laboratories, paid the $75 minimum charge, and they couldn't find anything wrong with the unit. (Not only that, but (1) they moved locations while they had my unit and (2) they didn't call me back to tell me that they were done, so I waited forever to get it back. Grrr.) I encouraged them to try harder to find the problem and they still didn't find anything wrong. So I brought the unit home and it worked for a while, and now it is doing the same thing. I cannot turn it on at all. Has anyone out there run across this problem and if so can you tell me what needs to be fixed on the unit? I am going to try and find a link on the Yamaha website to ask questions directly of them, but I figured I'd see if anyone here could help. I am going crazy. Thanks in advance!
