If you had a choice of a RX-V1500 or RX-V2400 which one would you take and why? I tried to do a comparison on the Yamaha website but the RX-V1500 is not listed as a option to compare confused.

Try to go to manual downloads on the Yamaha site. You should find all the information you need in the manual! ;)

I believe European models have different specs. :)

try cheating...

use the compare feature at shopping.com. it might not be all-inclusive, but it's a start... ;)

Go with the RX-V2400...no question.

It has the rec-out feature...invaluable

It allows you to have everything plugged into the receiver...and record something on a DVD recorder or VCR...while watching something else...all the while listening to cd's...

Great for when a gang comes over to watch hockey or football...and you want to listen to tunes instead of the idiot announcers...all the while recording that movie or show :D

I was under the impression that the RX-V1500 is a newer model where they have improved the electronics to get a better sound and the atomatic setup works better also??? What to do!!! any comments to this question

I guess that's correct. The German market for instance has no longer an RX-V2400 (but an 2500).

Correct, the 1500 is newer, however, if you look at the back...they are the same.

The 2500 is quite different from both the 15 and 24 hundred.

I defy anyone to tell the difference in sound, from any of those three receivers.

At that point...it's about cost and features.

Thanks DM I got the 1500 just for the fact that its a newer model, hopefully everything works out right now my new HT system consists of:
Yama rx-v1500
Paradigm Focus (Fronts)
Paradigm CC170 (Center)
Paradigm Cinema70 (Surround) *Thinking of upgrading to the ADP-170
Paradigm PDR-12 (Sub)* I paid $560 for this sub anyone have any comments about this sub and its performance, are there better sub's on the market.
I am getting closer to the system I want just tweaking it here and there.
Any comments welcome!!!!

That is DEFINITELY what Tivo and DVRs inside cable boxes are for. Especially if the game is in HD, you gotta record it in HD to keep things looking good.
