Hi,
I have a Yamaha HTR-6060 receiver that I have been using for some time. A few weeks ago I disconnected the receiver and also moved a couple of speakers (the fronts) which were connected to it to do some drywall work on the ceiling. I decided to hook back up the receiver the other day but did not reconnect the speakers. While I was out, the wife was attempting to watch a movie and said that the receiver would say something about “Check wires” and she would need to toggle the power in order to get her movie back on. When I got home and she told me this I realized it was because I had simply disconnected the wires from the back of the speaker and they were laying there shorting out with each other. Now when I try to use the Front L/R speakers there is no output. These speakers work in other spots so it is not the speakers themselves but the output port from the receiver. I opened up the case hoping to find a simply fuse to replace but unfortunately it does not look this easy.
What would be damaged on the output stage when something like this happens? Is it possible to fix myself? I am electrically inclined and have fairly good soldering skills.
Thanks in advance!
Steven
