Yamaha OM650

Hi there, I have a set of Yamaha OM650 speakers, 120 watts, purchased in 2005. I havent used them for a few years and now want to get a new amp and set them up. Has speaker technology changed over the last few years or are these going to be fine to use? Not sure if its worth me spending the money on speakers.

I'm not familiar with those speakers, but speaker technology hasn't made any huge leaps recently. Did you like them when you used them before? If so, I'd say hook them up and enjoy. I've had my NHT speakers since 1998 and still enjoy them a lot. I occasionally get the itch to check out new speakers, but I figure that as long as I'm happy, I'm going to stick with them.

That said, you might enjoy going out to audition speakers to get experience with what is out there (at least, what is out there in your area to listen to, plus ones that you can audition for free from online shops like Aperion Audio).
