Yamaha NS a220

Hi friends. I have had a couple of chances to buy a. Pair of Yamaha NS a220 floor speakers anyone have any experience with them or opinions they could share with me?

What type of money are you talking?
I have not heard those speakers.
IMHO, I have never been impressed with older Japanese speakers. It is a curiosity to me! Somehow they managed to totally dominate electronics, but look to Europe or the USA for better speakers.
This may be out of your budget, but if you need tower speakers, one of the best current values I know of would be a pair of Boston Acoustics A250's which would cost $270.

Since you are looking at used, the Pioneer fs-52 designed by Andrew Jones are a more recent speaker that is fairly ubiquitous. You may be able to find a pair locally (craigslist) for $100 to $150. If you were buying them new, they cost almost as much as the Boston Acoustics.

They appear to be something that came with a 1980s rack system. Tweeters appear to be paper-cone, which are bottom-feeders in the tweeter world.
