For that price - why not take a chance? Looks like they're only $40 more on Amazon. Of course I have not heard the NS-6490. However, I did purchase my Behringer 2030Ps without having heard them (based on reviews only) and I like them just fine. I'll also likely purchase my next speakers (either Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1s or Salk Song Towers) without having heard them as I'm currently stationed in Alaska. I think if I spent much more than $3k (like on my retirement speakers - Gedlee) I'll be taking a plane ride to test drive them.

Just my .02.

I have heard the Ns-333 and they sound very good.....The Ns-6490 are supposed to be better.I never really considered Yamaha speakers before.

I remember when Best Buy used to carry those speakers. They sounded amazing for their price back then (less than $200). I could never get over the look of them though.

You can find them for cheaper than $100 now.

Here's a buy it now on ebay for a brand new pair.

After shipping they're $90.

There's another used pair up for grabs for $75, free shipping. Owner says they are mint and he has the original boxes. He listed this item previously as a buy it now at the same price and it did not sell. It's a fair price, but the demand is low.
