Yamaha mic with Denon receiver

I am considering purchasing the Denon AVR-3805. The optimizer microphone is not included, $65 extra. I currently have the Yamaha 5760. Would the mic from the Yamaha be combatible with the Denon? I could use a sound level meter, its $25 less, but I've heard its a chore to manual setup.

I doubt it would but, why not try it out and see? It might work. Of course the only way to tell how well it worked is to compare the results from it to the Denon mic.
