I can't select bitstream audio(Dolby Digital) for my cable box output. Everything is shown as two channel. If I select my DVD option I can get5.1 audio. What am I doing wrong. I'm getting prettyy good at fifuring the remote but can't find the right option. Going through the manual setup and sound menu and hdmishows v463. My guide says it should say htr-6140. Does any of this make sense?

How do you have your cable box connected to the Yamaha? HDMI?

My guess is that you need to go into the setup menu on the cable box itself and look for an audio output setting. Often, those are set to stereo by default, and you'll need to change it to Dolby Digital (or 5.1, or something similar).

Thanks. I checked those issues and they are not a problem. I can get to the PCM setting but can't change it to Dolby Digital.
