i have a bose acoustimass 6 series ii (5 cube and 1 subwoofer) and bose outdoor speakers (1 pair); I want to set up two zones, though it is not necessary that both have to play different things or both have to play simultaneously also (just want that i have the ability to switch on either zone with the remote)

i want to hook it up with my TV, DVD/VCR combo, DVR and I am deciding between the above two systems

5730 is a 5.1 and sells at $200 whereas 5760 is a 7.1 and sells for $500

few questions
1) am i looking at the right systems given what i want, plus the fact that i am just a beginner and do not want to spend a lot
2) the pro for 5730 is that it is 5.1 (which is what the acoustimass is) - so why pay for the extra 2 channels when i do not forsee buying additional speakers in the near future
3) the pro for 5760 is that it has the YPAO - but not sure how big a difference it will make since my living room is open and connected to dining and kitchen

appreciate any help from the experts out there

thanks

If you are not worried about all the "bells and whistles" and are just looking for a simple, inexpensive way to power both sets of speakers, and listen to movies in 5.1, I would go with the 5730. From what I've heard, the YPAO is nice, but setting up the speakers yourself isn't that hard.
For a little extra money though, you could get the 5740, which has the more recent Pro Logic and DSP decoding. Also, it will let you run both sets of speakers at the same time, which the 5730 won't (although in stereo, not any of the surround modes.) That was an issue for me because during parties, "get togethers", etc., it's nice to have the music playing in the house AND on the patio. Especially for the cook or drink maker who is constantly going in and out! Good Luck.
