Hey guys! I have a question or two. I have this yamaha receiver 5640 and I know some dvds are DTS and others are 5.1 and 5.1 dolby digital. Whats the best way to get the best quality from this thing. I have it set on neo 6 cinema and some movies just dont impress me at all. I dont hear much from my rear speakers. ( Directional sound id guess youd say) like when bullets whiz buy or a car flys by.
I just dont get the settings part for what people like. I try different things but I new to this.
I am running my toshiba dvd player to the head unit with optical cable from monster and my videos for everything are colorstream the red. green. blue.
Picture looks friggin awesome. Its just the sound.
What do you guys set your settings to when you watch a movie on your surround sound.
Also along with my dvd player I have my xbox hooked up to the reciever but when I try to hook my gamecube up to the reciever through the vcr in or the auxiliarry, I get sound but no picture? Am I pushing to much already with the dvd player and the xbox to not get any video?
