I've noticed a lot of discussion in these posts regarding Yamaha and Denon receivers (especially the RX-V2400, and the AVR-3805, respectively), as well as several other brands.

I am wondering why I haven't seen much discussion regarding Rotel (esp. the RSX-1056) and NAD (esp. the T762) receivers.

I am putting together a fairly large home stereo system, and am currently primarily focused on the purchase of receiver(s) at this point. It appears that each of these four manufacturers make a/v receivers in the $850-$1200 range.

I am curious if anyone has any comments regarding the relative pros/cons of these particular manufacturers and their respective products.

Thanks so much for any input you can provide,
Matt

I looked into a NAD surround receiver (ended up with just stereo, thats all i needed) and it was my top choice out of Denon, H/K, Yamaha, Integra, Marantz. The power ratings are honest and the supplies are more than ample. The sound is also the best I heard in terms of musicality.
1 down side is NAD's surround line has had some reliability issues in the past but are being cleared up with each new model line. The --3s should be pretty good by now.

Rotel I hear great things about although I have no experience with.

I've just bought an NAD T763. Setting it up right now. I listened to the Yamaha RXV2400 and the new Denon 3805. The NAD sounded better to me for music which is very important to me. The Denon was my second choice, very good with surround for movies. But the NAD had more power and made my listening chair feel like it was moving in some of my favorite movies. Was unable to audition the Rotel, no local dealer. To be fair though the NAD costs more than the others. It ran me $1049 (msrp $1399).

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.

zumbo...is that $581 for the Yammy RX-V1400 or 2400?

1400. I could not justify $200 more for the 2400. And now, considering I don't use the receivers amp at all, it was the best choice for me.
