Yamaha "clearance" at Good Guys

In their recent newspaper inserts, Good Guys has been advertizing "clearance" sale prices for various Yamaha RX-V series receivers, limited to stock on hand. The prices look pretty good for a real retail store, authorized dealer, honored warranty, etc.

I don't think the clearance is due to the models going away, as they are advertizing current models (e.g RX-V750, 1500, 2500, etc.) I haven't tried to go in and talk to anyone there yet, but either they are dropping Yamaha receivers entirely, or else they are migrating from the RX-V line to the HTR line as carried by Best Buy and other big box stores. My guess is that they are moving to the HTR line, but does anyone know? In any case, this might be a good chance to pick up an RX-V receiver, if you don't want to go the unauthorized online dealer route.

Tweeter is having a similiar clearance sale

They advertised a Denon 2200 Universal for $89, a 2900 for $149, a Denon 3803 for $299 and a couple other amazing deals on discontinued, floor models, and reconditioneds...all with full factory warrantees!

They advertised in the Sunday Baltimore Sun last week with a complete product listing and which local branch had each product in stock.

Some may be demo's.........I got my RX-V3300 at GG's for $600(list $1500) & it was a demo. No probs except for some of the plugs for the optical conn's were missing & they didn't have the manual for it. And yes, the 1-year manu. warranty was still valid from date of purchase.

I don't think so...I think it was whatever that particular store had lying around on display. I know Tweeter (just like Best Buys) treats their online stores and actual stores completely differently. If you go into a shop with a printout from their website they will not give you that price in the store.
They'll tell you that's the "online price". BB does the same. Pretty weird.

I had a CC store that was willing to price match their website price AND give me free delivery.

Treat the sales dude with some respect, don't try to nickle and dime every purchase, and the benefits can be yours.
