Yamaha CD R/W HDD #CDR-HD1500

I think I will purchase this player (today?). A local dealer is asking $999.00 Canadian. Can someone tell me of their experience with this model (or the 1300)? Or is there a thread I can be pointed to?

I have a Sony 300 disk player which is going to hit the junk yard real fast. This player cost only 300 bucks and I got even LESS than what I expected.

Picked it up.

I bought this Yamaha last weekend. All I wanted was a reliable jukebox and this unit will definitely serve this purpose. There are a couple of things that make me a bit pouty:

1 - No power button on the remote control.
2 - Pretty slow ripping each disk.
3 - Cannot identify a "text" search function.

I have only had a couple of hours with the machine (so far, just ripping disks!) so as I work my way through the functions I will post my opinions.
