Yamaha AVR's-HDMI question

Has anyone used a LCD computer monitor with a HDMI connection to view the RX-A3000's or any of the other Yamaha AVR's with a HDMI port, to access/view the menu options?

I recently moved my RX-A3000 into my bedroom and realized what a pain it is to run YPAO or access other menu options without a TV. Thanks.

Any screen with HDMI input should work just fine.
Yeah that's what I figured. Just wanted to make sure before I wasted some money on a monitor with HDMI inputs. I've got some HDMI v1.4 cables around the house that should work fine. Thanks.

I believe you could use hdmi to dvi cable as well, if you happen to have one and your screen has dvi.

You can also find HDMI-to-VGA converters if you happen to have an older VGA monitor just sitting around.

That is exactly what I did on my RPi and my arcade cabinet build. Rather than spending extra $ on a monitor with HDMI inputs, I purchased an older monitor with VGA inputs and a $10 HDMI-to-VGA converter.

The RPi only has HDMI outputs.

But, read up on it......I don't know if these play nice with HDCP.......

I previously had a component to VGA adaptor that worked fine but my old 18 year Samsung monitor finally gave up the ghost. the VQ was lacking anyway, so I figured updating to a straight HDMI connection would be good for my eyeballs. thanks guys.
