Well, we've overcome the problem entering codes (changing the L:CAB to L:SAT, thanks Anonymous) allowed me to enter codes, but neither listed for Dish Network worked, nor did any listed for Echostar. I have a Dish DVR, but it accepts the same IR codes as the 301 (my 301 remote controls it perfectly, save the missing key functions).

Does anyone have a 2500 or any Yamaha frankly and a Dish Network receiver? What code did you use? I am REALLY wanting to avoid programming 40 buttons...

Thanks for any help.

Well ...

Look under the VCR section. That's where I found the DirecTv Tivo codes for my Sattelite Box, not under Hughes (the maker) or DirectTV in the Sattelite Section.

The VCR codes for "Tivo" worked fine. Perhaps there is a section for the maker of your DVR as well.

Hi Venger:

I have Dish (301-no DVR) and a Yami 1400. Yeh, it sucks. This time around I have to say the people at Dish are idiots. Usually, they're pretty good but not this time. I called them with this concern and to see if they knew who actually made the receivers but the didn't know. The only thing they could give me is their code to get their remote to work.

What I ended up doing is using the Learn function on the remote to control some of the buttons/functions but I am now looking at buying a Marantz 1400 remote to take care of this problem. It's just easier in my opinion to use two remotes until I get a full universal.

Welp - here's the scoop.

The @$$holes at Dish decided it'd be oh so clever to make this unit UHF ONLY.

That's right, the unit uses UHF, just like those crappy local channels did when you were a kid...

So ONCE AGAIN, I am stuck with two remotes. I have been unable to use just one remote for about 6 years now...

That sure makes cable DVR look a little more inviting...
