yamaha 661 - party mode?

this is just a quick question since i think i am set on the 661. this may sound really dumb but does it have a "party mode". where a any normal cd (through my hda2) can be played through all 5 speakers and the sub. i use my ht for movies and general comcast cable but when i have people over i'd like to be able to have all 5 speakers playing for music since we all like it loud.

yes. use the 'all channel stereo' mode

or it might also be called '5 channel stereo'

i might just go buy and test it and see if anything shows up in the manuel. gotta love circuit city and 0 apr for 18 months

You can use a number of things....7 ch. stereo, neo music, PLX music,7 ch. enhancer...

I use 7 channel stereo all the time. It also has a 7 channel MP3 enhancer mode. All would suit your needs, even with only 5 speakers. Just make sure the speakers are all set to small or you may blow them in "party mode"
